Check out what’s been going on this week:
- Don't call me at 5:30 because I am watching Leave it to Beaver! Nothing like watching black & white TV. #
I hope someone drops off a plate of cookies on the door and runs, just don’t run too far because we’d love to see ya!
Last night, we had the opportunity to celebrate Valentines Day Arizona style. Our original plans were to go to Lucille’s Barbecue, the best BBQ in the country. We used to have to drive to Vegas, but now we just have to drive over to Tempe. So what did we do instead? We enjoyed some Slow Food. . .
The GSBA, where I volunteer, invited us to Chef Du Moo (a Slow Food Dinner) at the Superstition Farm. The dinner was held at a Farm, yes that is right, a farm. When we arrived we met some fellow GSBA folk standing by the cows. We just missed watching a cow give birth to her Calf. Six calves were born yesterday at the farm, isn’t the gift of life a miracle in all forms. We arrived about 6:00 and dinner was served around 6:30, so we had some time to enjoy the scenery and listen to the band. We visited Mooster’s Moo-tique, a little gift shop on the farm. They had the cutest farm animal toys I’ve ever scene, including a 10 finger puppet set of the little piggy’s. They had cheese spreads and crackers to enjoy as well, they were so good. Our favorite cheese was Rosemary, which surprised me I thought garlic would be my favorite. And of course, we looked at the animals real live Donkeys, Goats, Horses, Bunnies, and Lots and Lots of Cows, were on the farm.
We were excited for dinner it was a 4 course meal. As we waited we tried to figure out what the 4 courses would be maybe soup, salad, dinner, and dessert? That was my best guess, boy was I wrong.
All three of the courses were delicious. Everything that was served was raised on a local farm, including the Freshly Churned Butter, Yum. And for dessert, they served cheesecake. 3 kinds of cheesecake for everyone:
Oh and did I mention all 3 pieces were topped with some fresh vanilla whip cream. We had a great time, as you can see, good food with good friends. We got to sit next to the Mayor of Gilbert, who is from Provo of all places.
We also just wrapped up Birthday week at our house! Thanks to everyone for their thoughtful messages and phone calls, it is great to know that you all still love us! We are still wondering when you are coming to visit! The weather is perfect, we had our valentines dinner outside on a farm, in February! Please come and visit real soon, it is a lot of fun here.
(Sorry no pictures!) But visit the Superstition Farm’s website and you’ll get a good idea!
As you’ll recall in November we bought a nice new big Brown couch!
Now that we have our own real furniture, I have been keeping my eye out for a window valances to put on the two windows in the Family Room. The couch has brown pillows with blue accents, they are okay but a little boring.
Yesterday, I thought it may be fun to accent the brown couch and window valances with Pink. I scoured the internet and everything I found in Pink and Brown, though very cute looked like it belonged in a baby nursery.
So I went back to Chocolate and Blue, for a color scheme. I stumbled upon a table runner and matching pillows, that I just love.

FLOWERFIELD TABLE RUNNER in CHOCOLATE/AQUA

But the question is what to do about the window valances.. . So for all you out there who sew, or watch those home decorating shows on T.V. Can you help?
Please leave a comment! I’d love some input on this little project. If you see anything out there that I may like send me the link!
I hope you’ll come visit real soon and help me get this project done
